Youth Soccer (ages 3-5)
Participants are introduced to fundamental soccer skills such as running, kicking, dribbling, and stopping the ball. Activities and games are designed to improve motor skills, balance, listening skills, and teamwork while keeping children engaged and active. Emphasis is placed on participation, effort, and having fun rather than competition or scores.
The program also supports social and emotional development by teaching children how to follow simple instructions, take turns, cooperate with others, and show good sportsmanship. YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are woven into each session.
Parent involvement may be encouraged, especially for younger participants, to help children feel comfortable and supported. All sessions are led by trained YMCA staff who create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for every child.
The YMCA Youth Soccer Program helps young athletes build a strong foundation for future sports participation while fostering healthy habits and a positive attitude toward movement and teamwork.
