Virtual Summer Camp Registration

The Out-of-School Network is comprised of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint, Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village, YMCA of Greater Flint, and other youth service organizations in the Greater Flint community. This year’s 2020 Summer Camp will provide distance-based, virtual programming for students. Our staff combined will facilitate camp activities through online platforms including social media, Google Suite, YouTube, and Zoom Video Conferencing.

Our commitment to keeping the young people we serve safe, remains our number one priority. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint, Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village, and YMCA of Greater Flint will actively monitor member activity participation in our Summer Camp and will make every effort to protect member information by, among other things, maintaining control of, and access to, the data collected; prohibiting re- disclosure of member information; limiting the purposes for which the online platforms may use member information; ensuring there is no advertising and that no member information is collected for commercial purposes.

This letter seeks consent for your child to utilize the software platforms for distance- based, virtual program purposes. The Zoom platform security and privacy features can be found here: and at . Please be aware that each application collects different information about its users and has its own privacy terms and conditions to which members must adhere. Please review these carefully before registering your child.

I voluntarily register my child, for participation in the Summer Camp. I will hold harmless Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint, Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village, and YMCA of Greater Flint from any claim by me or my child or any entity on behalf of myself or my child arising out of my child’s participation in the program. I assume responsibility for my child’s physical condition and capability to perform under the program.

We will use the online applications for the following program activities:

1. We will use the Zoom software platform for group video chats, sharing projects, and program discussions in the chat.

2. YouTube will be used for your child to watch instructional videos from our instructors that are prerecorded and can be watched at any time.

3. Google Suite will be used to share virtual activities, links, PDFs, and websites that will complement our program activities.

In order to participate in virtual programming, your child must have access to a computer, tablet, smartphone, or a school district assigned Chromebook or iPad, including access to the internet. If you do not have internet, Comcast is currently offering free internet service to those who need it.
